This discussion will delve into the complex and enduring philosophical question: what is truth? Through our critical examination of various theories and perspectives, we will explore the multifaceted nature of truth and its implications for knowledge, belief, and understanding.

The idea will be:

  • To critically analyze the core concepts of "correspondence to reality," "factuality," and "verity."

  • To evaluate and compare the strengths and weaknesses of key philosophical theories of truth, including correspondence, coherence, and pragmatic theories.

  • To explore the distinctions between objective, subjective, and contextual truth and their implications for knowledge and belief.

  • To facilitate in-depth discussion and debate on the challenges and complexities of defining and attaining truth.
